E.L.F. x Christian Siriano Makeup Collaboration Review

If you are into affordable cruelty free makeup and COLOR, you are going to love the new Elf and Christian Siriano makeup collaboration! Not only is the packaging pink, metallic, and gorgeous, the shades themselves are bold! The collection is inspired by Christian’s Spring 2018 runway show. It features a light pink Tinted Lip Oil, a gorgeous hot pink Matte Lipstick, a palette full of bold eyeshadow colors and a metallic pink makeup bag.

I love Christian Siriano’s style and I love how he fights for inclusivity – gay, straight, trans, man, woman, curvy, skinny, dark, light – we are all beautiful! And Christian makes a point to include everyone. After he designed Leslie Jones’ dress for the Ghostbusters premiere, he won me over for life!

Let’s start with the Elf x Christian Siriano eyeshadow palette. Most of the time drugstore makeup bums me out because it’s not pigmented enough. That is not the case with this palette! There are seven shades here: matte light pink, ocean blue, deep purple, shimmery rose gold, shimmery bright green, deep matte mauve and an icy, yet warm highlight. These aren’t normal “Jen colors” but I was surprised to find that I really loved the rose gold, green and mauve. I wore the mauve, with a bit of rose gold to fade the edges, the purple to deepen the crease and highlighter in the inner corners and brow bone the other day. My fiance was like WOW – I love your makeup! I think the mauve is so pretty and really brings out the green in my eyes.

The green is also really pretty. It reminded me of the “Lime Time” green shade in the Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne palette. But when I swatched them together I realized the Elf green has a lot more blue in it. So not a dupe, but surprisingly close in terms of color payoff and luminosity. The green in the Elf palette has major mermaid vibes!

The Elf x Christian Siriano Liquid Matte Lipstick is a gorgeous bright pink. It’s made with Vitamin E to hydrate, and I found it to be pretty wearable. You guys know I’m not a fan of the matte liquid lipsticks that suck all of the moisture out of your skin. This one isn’t hydrating (no liquid matte lipstick is), but it’s surprisingly comfortable to wear. I put the Tinted Lip Oil on top to get some extra moisture and shine. The whole collection is a win for me!
