Cruelty Free Sunscreen for Acne Prone Skin

Emme Diane Cruelty Free Sunscreen for Acne Prone Skin Review by Popular Los Angeles Beauty Blogger, My Beauty Bunny

Emme Diane Cruelty Free Sunscreen for Acne Prone Skin

I have been sharing my love for Emme Diane and her cruelty free skincare for awhile now, but I want to dive a little deeper, and specifically review her sunscreen for acne prone skin for you guys. If you haven’t read my Emme Diane reviews, I highly recommend you start here, here and here. My skin hadn’t been acne-free since I was a pre-teen, and then Emme came into my life and changed everything! She educated me on the lifestyle changes I needed to make (and trust me – I thought I knew it all), and got me started on a custom skincare regimen. Now I’m singing her praises to the rooftops!

I’ve been using Emme Diane sunscreens religiously, especially since I have melasma (brown spots caused by hormones), and she taught me that I need to use sunscreen – even when indoors to keep it from getting worse. Melasma is triggered by heat and light. The best thing about all of Emme Diane’s products is that they are made without any pore-clogging ingredients. There are a surprising number of acne-triggering ingredients in most skincare products – even the ones that are made for acne-prone skin! Emme uses high quality ingredients that get results, but she doesn’t add random “fluff” ingredients or scents that are mainly used for marketing (but can actually be bad for your skin).

There are three sunscreens: Non-Tinted Mineral Sunscreen SPF 40, Tinted Mineral Sunscreen SPF 40 and Illuminating Sunscreen SPF 58. All three use non-pore-clogging dimethicone to blur out fine lines and large pores. Think of it as a Photoshop filter (or FaceTune) in real life! They are all broad spectrum physical sunscreens (made with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide) and they are water and sweat resistant.

My favorite is the Tinted Mineral Sunscreen. It has a light to medium tint and a matte finish. If you are very fair or very dark, you might prefer the non-tinted version. If you are very fair and prefer a dewy, glowy look, try the Illuminating Sunscreen. My cruelty free blogger friends, Phyrra and Emily Wolf Beauty, prefer that one. In the swatches above, I put on a large amount, but a little goes a long way, and these sheer out when you apply them. If I showed you what they look like when blended in, you wouldn’t really see anything!

Whether you have acne or not, I highly recommend these cruelty free sunscreens. They are some of the best I’ve ever tried, and perfect for every skin type. I recently compared the Emme Diane Non-Tinted Sunscreen to the Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen, and I noticed the Supergoop left a shine that I don’t really want. If you’re acne-prone, you are probably looking for something more matte. If your skin is dry, you may love the Supergoop sunscreen (it has shea butter and other moisturizing ingredients), but keep in mind it’s a chemical (rather than physical) sunscreen.

Vegan and cruelty free
